What Is Global Entry and How Do I get Approved?
Global Entry let's you skip the wait at the US Customs border, but getting it isn't always straightforward.
What is Global Entry?
Global Entry is a program that allows pre-approved travelers to get expedited clearance through customs on arrival from international trips.
Who Can Get Global Entry?
The following individuals are eligible for Global Entry membership:
United States citizens
United States lawful permanent residents
Citizens of the following countries: Argentina, Brazil, Bahrain, India, Colombia, United Kingdom, Germany, The Netherlands, Panama, Singapore, South Korea, Switzerland, Taiwan
Is There a Fee For Global Entry?
Yes, the fee for the Global Entry membership is 100$ for 5 years of membership. Please note, that the $100 fee is non-refundable, even if your application is rejected.
There are ways to offset the fee, as many credit cards will pay for your Global Entry, making it free. You can read more here.
Does Global Entry Include TSA PreCheck?
Yes, the Global Entry membership includes TSA PreCheck, along with other perks.
How Do I Get Approved For Global Entry?
Getting approved for Global Entry is a multi-step process, consisting of filling out an application, paying the membership fee, receiving conditional approval, and scheduling an interview.
The first stage of the Global Entry approval process is filling out the application. This is a multi-stage process that will require you to fill out some personal information and pay your $100 membership fee.
After you filled out your application and submitted the $100 membership fee, you will have to wait for conditional approval. Conditional approval means that you are eligible for Global Entry, but must complete an in-person interview to complete your application.
Conditional approval is just a waiting process and may take anywhere from 24 hours to 4 months.

After you’ve been conditionally approved, you will need to schedule your in-person interview at a qualifying Enrollment Center. You can schedule your interview by clicking here.
Waiting For Your Interview
What you may notice right away, is that the interview wait time for many Global Entry Enrollment Centers is 4-12 months out. Most enrollment centers are very busy and have hundreds of people interviewing every day.
